Mizna is an award-winning, critical platform for contemporary literature, film, and art centering the work of Arab and Southwest Asian/North African artists. For 25 years, Mizna has created a decolonized cultural space to reflect the expansiveness of our community and to examine ideas and engage audiences in meaningful art.

 

Environment

Indigenous Environmental Network

The Indigenous Environmental Network (IEN) is an international alliance of Indigenous peoples whose mission it is to protect the sacredness of Mother Earth from contamination and exploitation by strengthening, maintaining, and respecting Indigenous teachings and natural laws. IEN is action oriented and employs a variety of tactics to further its goals, including political/popular education, training and research, and mass mobilization and protests.

 

Children & Youth

HOPE 4 Youth
$25,000
The mission of HOPE 4 Youth is to provide pathways to end youth homelessness. Programs include a Drop-In Center that provides basic needs– hot meals, clothing, laundry facilities, a shower– for young people at risk of or experiencing homelessness (the only center of its kind serving youth in the north metro area).

Gender Justice

Gender Justice is a nonprofit legal and policy advocacy organization devoted to advancing gender equity through the law. Gender Justice envisions a world where all people can thrive regardless of their gender, gender expression or identity, and sexual orientation. This involves dismantling legal, structural, and cultural barriers that contribute to gender-based oppression and ensuring people of all genders feel safe, valued, and free.
